Born and raised in a family business, I lived in the heartbeat of small businesses. The daily hustle, the shared ideas, the thrill of wins, the sting of losses – it all painted a vibrant picture of survival and passion for entrepreneurship.
I saw the power of small businesses to impact lives, create opportunities, and drive the very heartbeat of our economy. But I also saw the struggle – the late nights, the tough decisions, the constant dance between survival and soaring.

Sure, there were mistakes. Big ones, sometimes. Mistakes that brought audits, blame, and pressure that felt like a ton of bricks. I remember those teenage emotions during my teenage years whenever I realised I had made a loss which I can’t reverse, at times it gets so emotionally draining, but I had no other option but to learn to survive. Being little was not an excuse, as I am sure those who grew up in a business setting can relate.
At times you are left with a small business worth thousands of dollars to manage, and you are expected to deliver. The funny thing was, despite the responsibilities involved, it was always so exciting because growing up in a business setting triggers your brain to reason above your age. At times, the little boy in me felt like he was already 50. 😂😂😂 Lol.
In hard times, I tried to learn to evolve, embrace the mess-ups, and see them as stepping stones, not roadblocks. I was once told it was part of the process, but being little, I couldn’t understand how setbacks can be part of the process. Fast forward, perfection became my enemy – progress, my new best friend.
Because even the best can get better, right? And the more I chased that “better,” the more I fell in love with the chase itself. The challenges, the uncertainties, the constant evolution – it all became an addiction, a beautiful, messy struggle that most entrepreneurs can relate to.
The funny thing? The pain, the doubt, the whole crazy climb – it all fuelled my love for the process. I’m pretty sure most entrepreneurs can relate. The tougher the battle, the sweeter the victory. I’m obsessed with the journey, and that’s that.
